Description

The battle with the man-eaters is from the based folk tales from Indonesia

For a long time our boy remained in the village of the man-eater, but when the desire for adventure was too much for him. Before parting the girl told him that there were nine such people eaters and that lived in the tenth village cannibals with nine heads. Instead of it frightened him to go there, he was determined to fight them all. He took his blowpipe and bezoar, and came after a while in a second village of cannibals, where he experienced the same adventure. Again he shot the giant with his blowgun, but it did again not enough: the giant stood up and staggered back to his house. Here the hero also heard of a girl, who also kept locked up this monster that had bound his life to a pot, which was filled with water. She showed him the place where that pot and stood with his heel he kicked a big hole, so that the water flowed out, and thus simultaneously flowed the life out of the giant body.

This girl was more beautiful than the last, and he loved her very much. For a long time he stayed with her, but finally he fared just as with the first locked girl, he could not restrain his lust for adventure and pulled on a good day out. And again he entered a village of a giant and he had to fight back with a monster. So it went nine times until he finally in the home of the giant with nine heads had arrived. That was a particularly voracious giant, as he ate he devoured nine large pots of food in one bite, because in each of its nine mouths issued a very potvol simultaneously. And if he pruimde than he needed a whole bunch of betel nuts and a whole sirihstruik and a whole bamboo articulation lime and a whole bamboo articulation tobacco. His spear was pulled from the ground coconut trunk and as he chanted his war cries, the village of his enemies went up in flames. When the sun went down, our boy hid under a rice barn. But it did not help him; soon came the giant striding, dangerously constantly sniffing and crying, "I smell human flesh I smell human flesh!" The boy was pulled out, and when he said he had come to fight with the giant, who undertook it under dire threats that the next morning he would get the opportunity.

The boy felt nothing at ease, now that he had seen this monster. But behold, as he lay awake there, there was a firefly fly, who told him that he had addressed not convenient, because the giant with nine heads was invincible.

"Can he be slain than never?" asked the boy.

"Yes," said the firefly, "but then you have the stone, which makes him invincible and that stone is a bezoar, which possesses magical powers."

"Where is that then hidden?"

"He's at the bottom of a basket, crammed with all kinds of things. I can not get it from there," said the firefly.

But the lad knew enough; when he looked around soliciting a mouse under the rice barn, he promised her a piece of dried coconut meat, when they went to get the stone for him. The mouse nibbled the basket open, took out the stone and was thus in her mouth to the boy.

When the next morning dawned the giant stepped forward and raised a ferocious battle cry, but the place where our boy was, did not go up in flames. He shouted again and again it was futile. So it went four times. Then cried the lad and see at the same time there was a great fire. Startled, called the giant: "You have my bezoar Have you removed the stone from me?"

And mockingly replied the boy, "How could I have been able to take away that I could know where it was stone?"

But the forces of the giant declined rapidly and he fell to the ground. Before he breathed his last breath, he said to the boy: "When I am dead, then you should split my middle head and then you will be in the brains find a round piece of gold that you have to take.."

When the monster was dead, the boy did as he was told and he buried the giant. He went to the house, where he no fewer than nine girls found locked, all trapped in the attic. He climbed into the attic and saw that they were all nine wonderful, but there still was one, which was the most beautiful of all. With her he married and then he spent eight young men killed by the giant back to life, he gave it to the eight other girls in marriage. And all the other victims of the giant were made alive. He wore them to practice farming.

So he lived in that village for a long time very happy and satisfied. He told his wife that he would not rest until he had slain all cannibals. She answered him that he could stay calm because that after the death of nine-headed monster was no more man-eaters. And then continued our hero as ruler of that village there for a long time to live.
